The Feliaho Band Info Togolese singer songwriter Félix Octave Komi Aholou and his Boulder, CO based band Feliaho are dedicated to spreading good vibes through performing the vibrant musical styles of West Africa. The Feliaho band’s mission is creating pioneering music based on traditional rhythms of the southern region of Togo mixing them with jazz, hip hop, funk, reggae, and rock. The music could be narrowly defined as AfroPop, but the diversity of musical styles and the exceptional musicianship of the band make Feliaho hard to categorize in a single genre. Félix has been singing and writing original music for over twenty years. The lyrical content is poignant and provocative. Singing in his native Ewe, French, and English, the main themes of his songs are love of God, respect for one another, environmental issues, human rights abuses, and peace. The Feliaho live show is an unforgettable experience. The band’s lineup consists of a lock- tight rhythm section (bass and drums) complimented by acoustic accompaniment and a ripping lead guitar. Horns and female backing vocals join the band to texture the groove and fill out the sound. With strong African and reggae beats, the music is very lively and irresistibly danceable. The members of the band represent some of Boulder’s hardest working and talented musicians who are dedicated to delivering the highest quality entertainment.
